Reputable farm shop in Durham
Are you looking for farm shop committed to animal welfare and product quality? Then you have come to the right place. Get in touch with BushBlades Farm today for more details.
Bushblades is a small 18-acre family-run farm. Three generations of the family are involved in the upkeep and day to day running of the farm.
Located in Tantobie, North Durham. The farm was established in the mid-1800s and is made up of a number of small paddocks, all of which are clearly visible from the farmhouse. The farm is fortunate to have access to a natural spring, which provides an abundance of fresh running water through the main paddock 365 days a year.
New to farming but routed in the ideology of sustainable, traditional farming methods, Garry has built the idea of the Bushblades farm around the core values of ‘Plain and Simple’.
Jane’s background of food and feed law enforcement means that the farms’ foundations of providing good quality meat have been built around the ethos of only using good quality feed and providing healthy outdoor living conditions for the animals all year round.
The farm’s orchard, vegetable gardens, and grassland are pesticide free and the natural hawthorn hedgerows mean that the environment is blooming with natural insects and wildlife. Keen to obtain organic status only natural fertilisers are used (alpaca poo) to replenish the soil’s nutrients.
The farm is built on two pillars:
- Animal welfare
- Premium products
We are guided by the ‘five freedoms’ in all that we do.
We are currently working with other ‘like-minded’ local farmers and individuals to produce our premium product to sell directly to our customers. At the moment this is ‘over the gate sales’ but our farm shop is coming soon.
